Session Title

The Rise of the Independent Worker

Abstract

Newer ways of working keep sweeping the world. And not just in offices and factories where teams gather and work together. Individuals are adopting newer ways of working too as they make the shift from employee to contractor or consultant, entrepreneur, or part time this and a bit of part time that.

And they’ve had to. Particularly if they’ve been laid off or let go - and not when they were expecting it. The shock of being on the market and looking around can make you fall back to old patterns and skills or to simply replace what you were just doing with something similar.

But how else might you approach a new way of working in your career ... and in a way that might be new for you?

The 'independent worker' is most certainly on the rise; they're 'doing their own thing' in the way they want, choosing from a range of employment options and choices.

Join this session where Lynne Cazaly shares insights on:

- The shift and growth of independent work;

- How companies are utilising independent workers;

- The joys and freedoms of doing your own thing;

- The challenges and situations that call on us to use our own agility and adaptability! Whether you're
   already an independent worker ... or think it might potentially be on your horizon

- Join this session to tap the knowledge in the room and the strategies that will make for a truly agile life.
