The Magic of Groups
There's interesting research around our preference as humans for groups of various sizes. Some studies show that we are happiest and most productive in small teams and communicate across a larger organization with a limited size. Some of these group sizes may seem "magical" until we look at our long history and the current science of behavior. Since a lot of our intuition about group size comes these days from our experience online on social media or in endless Zoom meetings, it might be good to pay attention to what are still applicable limits on our social interaction and perhaps structure our organizations accordingly. We are stuck with stone age brains struggling to survive with modern technology.
