The Heart of Agile from the Founder

Agile has become overly decorated. Simplifying it to just the four words: Collaborate, Deliver, Reflect, Improve, not only recovers the original sense of the movement, but also makes it more powerful and easier to learn. This course will leave you with many ideas for how to improve your project. You will also obtain a Heart of Agile Level A certificate.

This course would be delivered remotely online with video discussions, lectures and small group working assignments using small lectures, small-group discussion assignments, some larger pair and team exercises, Dr. Cockburn and Ms. Pinter will lead the attendees through the four quadrants of the Heart of Agile, collecting insights and ideas for improving any project or team.

People from any industry looking to modernize and improve their team’s way of working. No prior knowledge of any field, industry or practice is needed, only curiosity and a desire to improve. Since this course presents a deep simplification and reorientation from “agile” as usually taught, no previous experience in agile is needed. Those with experience will learn from the new techniques being introduced.

Dr. Alistair Cockburn was one of the original authors of the Agile Manifesto. He was voted in "The All-Time Top 150 i-Technology Heroes" for his work in Use Cases and Agile Software Development. He is an internationally renowned strategist, author of the Jolt award-winning Agile Software Development and Writing Effective Use Cases. He co-created the Agile Manifesto, the Declaration of Interdependence, the Agile Project Leadership Network, the International Consortium for Agile and now the Heart of Agile. Dr. Cockburn is an expert on agile development, project management, process design, use cases, and object-oriented development. His current consulting specialty is organizational psychology.

Sole Pinter has been practicing, presenting and innovating Heart of Agile techniques since 2017. President of Heart of Agile Europe and Director of Global Operations for the Heart of Agile community, she has taught and co-taught the Heart of Agile Fundamentals course in two languages, Spanish and English. With over 20 years of experience, she draws from decades of complex situations in addressing client, classroom and student needs.
